4th Amendment Related to Computer Searches
The 4th amendment of the U.S. Constitution is challenged often when it comes to computer or electronic storage searches. Research how the 4th amendment affects computer and digital media searches and compose a 2-3 page paper that includes the impact of this amendment when conducting these types of searches. Your paper should be composed using APA style and include a minimum of 3 cited references.
Computer Crimes
Find one current computer related case from a site such as: www.usdoj.gov/criminal/cybercrime or the Computer Crime Research Center.
Submit a 2-page APA formatted paper describing:
- What happened
- How the criminal(s) were apprehended
- What type of sentence was given
- Any monetary restitution ordered
- How this crime differs from a case that was merely theft and did not involve a computer
The assignment should include the following:
- An in-depth submission that should be free of spelling and grammar errors in APA format.
- An essay containing a minimum of 300-400 words documenting your research on the subject.
- You will be assessed on the rationale you use in addressing the questions/issue posted, and how well you justify your argument regarding this issue.
- Your response must be thought provoking, have well developed ideas and/or opinions, and should reference any supporting material from the text, lecture or other sources you have used to complete the assignment.
