Please read it very carefully and reply to it by providing 150 meaningful words, apa format, at least 1 citation from course textbook: Martin, M. E. (2014). Introduction to human services: Through the eyes of practice settings (3rd ed.). Boston, MA: Pearson. ISBN: 9780205848058. Your work should be original work. Thanks (Tara)

Human Service workers provide many services in which they assist individuals with improving their lives. Because of the nature of the work provided human services workers at any level are held to a code of ethics intended to protect the rights and dignity of the client as well as establish standards of practice. Human service professionals face ethical dilemmas and they need to consider the ethical code of conduct for providing best service to their clients (Martin, 2014). The bible can be used as a guideline for human service workers to refer to, it will assist an worker with humbling one self, refraining from judgment and walking down the way God intended

Ethical Standards are the fundamental values of the human services profession include respecting the dignity and welfare of all people; promoting self-determination; honoring cultural diversity; advocating for social justice; and acting with integrity, honesty, genuineness and objectivity (Ethics, 2014).

The bible speaks on Humans services Workers. The following are scriptural text referring to Human service Workers as listed in in the gateway bible. As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace (1 Peter 4:10). In this scripture God is calling on his sheep to use the gifts he has provided each of us for the good, and to assist others when we seen a need.

Do not turn away a brother in need in James 2:14-17 he says: What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead (James 2:14-17)

So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith (Galatians 6:10). In this scripture we go beyond servicing clients, and this calls for you to treat everyone with the ethic standards. Even those we have hardened our hearts toward.

Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all (Romans 12:13-17). For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me (Matthew 25:35).

Nothing is new under the sun, just like in biblical times, in todays society we are called to help one another. Then the LORD said to Cain, “Where is your brother Abel?” “I don’t know,” he replied. “Am I my brother’s keeper?” (Genesis 4:9) The answer is yes, as we are called by the Lord to serve, we are the keepers of our brother. In the Human services field as in the bible we are to keep respecting the dignity and welfare of all people.

The only difference between ethical standards and biblical ethical standards are whom they are directed toward. In the biblical sense this is a guideline use to govern all of your life in the way you treat all those whom you meet. In the Human Services field you are only required to uphold these principals with clients that you services.

As Christians and children of God we must remember that he has called on us to be an example to the world, to let our light shine. So as children of God we are already held to a higher standard of living, the ethical code just reintegrates how we are to threat others. This is a code for the people of the world to follow, because Christians should already provide respect, dignity, integrity, humbleness, and honesty. The bible says much about integrity and honesty of a believer.

And as for you, if you will walk before me, as David your father walked, with integrity of heart and uprightness, doing according to all that I have commanded you, and keeping my statutes and my rules, then I will establish your royal throne over Israel forever, as I promised David your father, saying, “You shall not lack a man on the throne of Israel.” (1 Kings 9:4-5 ) By this I know that you delight in me: my enemy will not shout in triumph over me. But you have upheld me because of my integrity, and set me in your presence forever. Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting! Amen and Amen. (Psalm 41:11-13) So you will walk in the way of the good and keep to the paths of the righteous. For the upright will inhabit the land, and those with integrity will remain in it … (Proverbs 2:20-21 ) Did he not himself say to me, “She is my sister”? And she herself said, “He is my brother.” In the integrity of my heart and the innocence of my hands I have done this. Then God said to him in the dream, “Yes, I know that you have done this in the integrity of your heart, and it was I who kept you from sinning against me. Therefore I did not let you touch her (Genesis 20:5-6) I will sing of steadfast love and justice; to you, O LORD, I will make music. I will ponder the way that is blameless. Oh when will you come to me? Will walk with integrity of heart within my house (Psalm 101:1-2)
